![]() That’s a lot to look forward to on August 29th, so mark your calendar. On top of that, with cross-platform multiplayer, by August 29th you’ll be able to design towns with friends playing with different versions of the game. If you’re already a PC player, you’ll be able to get a free Mac download through Origin. The PC version recently received its sixth patch update last week, bringing a number of improvements and a new region for building called Granite Lake. RT if you can’t wait to start building on the Mac.” “Good news, Mayors! #SimCity is coming to Mac on Aug 29. The new official release date for SimCity for the Mac was revealed via Twitter: Now we can expect the game to launch later this month, on August 29th.ĮA likely delayed the first launch of SimCity for Mac after the fiasco with the PC version release, which came with enough server problems to prevent early buyers from being able to play the game. Appalling.SimCity for the Mac was supposed to be released on June 11, but was delayed because EA wanted to make sure it was ready for primetime before releasing it into the wild. It's not everyday that this inspires such a huge reaction, and (fortunately) it's not everyday that a game that was previously a thoroughly fun, expansive and dare I say it adult experience gets reduced to a glorified Facebook game. ![]() It's not everyday that a game that has been as a good as dead for 10 years comes back to life. That's what a lot of 'us' expected, and I think we were quite right too. For balance, i'll put the things I enjoy: curved roads (excellent!), tilt shift works pretty well, modular building is an excellent idea, the ability to share utilities and buildings between cities is BRILLIANT, some parts of the social experiment are quite interesting. I mean, the server issues and ridiculous price they expect people to pay for this game seem trivial compared to this. Let's go through this quickly: horrendous server issues, a pretty much unnecessary mandatory online only connection, almost facist DRM, tiny plots of land that are not much bigger than the village I live in, horrible right-angle 'freeway' connections, which are totally uneditable, huge swathes of land that are permanently out of reach, overcomplicated and completely unnecessary information on individual citizens (this isn't Tropico.), a permanently depleting water table, inability to restore cities (probably the thing I hate most about this game). As it stands, it's more like false advertising. Let's go If they would have called it 'SimCity Social I wouldn't have minded so much. If they would have called it 'SimCity Social I wouldn't have minded so much. Overall the game at this point is a major disappointing because of a forced always online integration that doesn't feel necessary and isn't working the slightest. For the developers this is the least of their concern right now as they have stated, as they just try to bring as many people onto the servers as possible. This means the game cannot be played the way it's meant to be and you will soon face a brick wall if you want to advance further. The underlying mechanics do not work or have been disabled to lessen the burden on the servers, resulting in non working region play. Your towns won't get saved occasionally, resulting in the loss of your previous gameplay. Even if you can login to the unstable servers you're faced with a myriad of problems that seem to go deeper than simple server problems. But as as of now it isn't and no one knows when the problem will be fixed. The Quadro P1000 combines a 640 CUDA core Pascal GPU, 4 GB GDDR5 on-board memory and advanced display technologies in a low-profile form factor to deliver amazing graphics performance for demanding professional applications. ![]() But as as of now it isn't and no one knows when the This game has the potential as seen in the marketing betas to be immensely entertaining.
